Support Our Missions

Hygiene kits

Church Missions assembled and delivered 25 hygiene kits to the regional CWS collection site.  These kits will be distributed locally and globally, as needed following a disaster when people are forced out of their homes.  The kits included a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, washcloth, towel, nail clippers, and soap, among other things.

Linus Project

We continue to donate 8 – 10 blankets each month to the Monadnock Chapter.  These blankets are then distributed to child care centers, Head Start, and hospitals; providing comfort and warmth to children.  We hope in the fall to start in-person meetings again.  If you are interested, please contact the church.

Virtual Parent Cafe

The Second Congregational Church of Wilton’s Missions Committee is one of the sponsors for a new local family support program called “Be Strong Families Virtual Parent Café.” We encourage our members to share this information with other family members that face the joys and challenges of parenting and/or child care.   While we look to serve the greater Milford, Wilton, and Lyndeborough families, all parents from any community are welcome!

The plan is to have a new Cafe meeting every other month going forward.  Watch your email for information on upcoming topics and cafes.  If you have any questions, please contact Dana.

Crop Walk

We are in the early stages of planning a crop walk-in Wilton to benefit the Open Cupboard.  All proceeds will go directly to the needs of the less fortunate in our area.  Everyone is invited to join us for a short walk around town.  The date is yet to be determined but will be in the fall.  Please watch future newsletters and church bulletins for more information.

Community Dinners

We would like to bring back monthly community dinners, once it is safe to gather again.  Our thought is to vary the menu and offer the meal to the public free of charge, although donations will be welcome!  We all know how difficult the past year has been.  We want to open the church doors to the community and see our friends and neighbors again.  More details to follow.
