On August 10 more than twenty people came to a luncheon to Introduce Pastor Gary, It was wonderful to share a meal with some people we have not seen for a while. We hope to sponsor another luncheon with the Pastor this fall so watch for the date in the October newsletter.
Our Linus project has recruited some new members. In August we completed twenty-four fleece blankets to give to the Monadnock Chapter of the Linus Blanket charity. These blankets will be distributed throughout the region to hospitals, Head Starts, police, fire and ambulance departments, to be given to children to comfort them. In August we had fifteen regular or new blanketeers. Mission dollars helps to support this project. as well as donations from the Monadnock Chapter of the Linus Blankets. Church Missions also purchases fleece on a regular basis to keep us supplied. The Linus group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 10:00 to 11:30.
The Fidget Blanket group continues to meet as well. This is a small group of dedicated women who spend a lot of time creating these special blankets for dementia patients in the area. Extra care is taken to ensure the blankets are safe as well as stimulating. In August we donated five blankets to an Adult Day Care in Peterborough. In the future we plan to make donations to more local nursing homes in our area. Contact us if you are interested in this project. We meet the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 9 to 11:30 in the church hall.
Do you have an idea for a mission or project? We would love to hear from you. Please share your ideas with anyone on the Missions Committee. We continue to be in awe of the generosity our congregation shows towards Missions’ projects. Thank you!
